MotoGP Signs 2027-2031 Deal With All Five Major Manufacturers
MotoGP Group has secured a long-term agreement with Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM and Yamaha covering the 2027 to 2031 seasons, locking in the sport's manufacturer lineup.

All Five Manufacturers Commit to MotoGP Through 2031
The MotoGP Group has reached a landmark long-term agreement with all five of the championship's current manufacturers - Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, KTM and Yamaha - covering the period from 2027 to 2031. The deal, announced by motogp.com, ensures continuity at the top level of grand prix motorcycle racing for at least the next several years beyond the current commercial framework.
Having every manufacturer sign simultaneously is a significant moment for the series. MotoGP has faced questions about manufacturer commitment in recent seasons, with the competitive and financial pressures of developing prototype-class machinery never far from the paddock conversation. This agreement removes uncertainty across the board.
What the Deal Means for the Grid
With all five brands tied in, teams and investors now have a clear horizon to plan against. Factory entries, satellite arrangements and technical development programs can be structured around a confirmed five-year window. That kind of stability matters not just to the manufacturers themselves but to the independent teams that rely on factory machinery and support.
Aprilia has grown rapidly as a competitive force and signing through 2031 reflects confidence from the Noale-based brand that its MotoGP program is a long-term strategic priority. Ducati enters the new cycle as the dominant manufacturer on the grid, having supplied race-winning machinery across multiple teams. Honda and Yamaha, both working through difficult rebuilding phases after years of Japanese manufacturer dominance, have nonetheless committed to the long haul. KTM, despite well-publicized financial difficulties at parent group level in late 2024, is also part of the new agreement, signaling that its MotoGP involvement remains intact.
Stability Heading Into a New Regulatory Era
The 2027 season is expected to bring significant technical regulation changes to MotoGP, making this agreement particularly important. Manufacturers are being asked to invest heavily in new engine and electronics architectures. Signing a five-year deal that begins right at the start of that regulatory cycle gives each brand a guaranteed competitive window to recoup that investment and develop their machinery.
For the MotoGP Group, securing all five signatures together is a strong commercial and sporting signal. Broadcasting partners, race promoters and sponsors operate more confidently when the manufacturer roster is settled well in advance. A grid without one of the historic Japanese manufacturers, or without a fast-rising European brand like Aprilia or KTM, would carry real reputational and commercial cost.
The agreement as reported by motogp.com covers five seasons, taking the championship through to the end of 2031. No financial terms were disclosed.
